Ezra Personal Assistant
A personal AI assistant I built and run for myself. This page exists to document it for Google's OAuth app verification — Ezra requests access to my own Google account so it can help manage my own calendar, email, and files.
What it is
Ezra runs on Hermes, an open-source personal agent framework, on a private server I control. It is a single-user tool — there is exactly one account it operates for: mine.
What it accesses and why
- Gmail (send/compose) — drafts and sends email on my behalf, at my direction.
- Calendar (read/write) — reads my schedule and creates/updates events I ask it to.
- Drive (files it creates or I share with it) — organizes and edits files I've explicitly given it access to.
- Contacts (read-only) — looks up contact details when drafting email or scheduling.
It does not access any other Google account, and no other user can authorize it.
Data handling
All data Ezra reads or writes stays within my own private infrastructure. Nothing is sold, shared with third parties, or used to train any model beyond the AI provider APIs (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI) that power the assistant itself, under their standard API terms.
